Overview of Stroke Care Services

Our caregivers offer a range of non-medical services to support seniors after a stroke. This includes assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. We understand that stroke survivors may experience mobility issues, so we also provide mobility support and fall prevention, helping clients move safely around their homes and assisting with transfers. Our caregivers are trained to create a safe environment, removing hazards and offering physical support when needed. In addition, we assist with meal preparation and medication reminders, ensuring that clients follow their prescribed recovery plans and maintain proper nutrition.

We also provide emotional support and companionship, which are crucial for stroke survivors dealing with the emotional toll of recovery. Our caregivers engage clients in activities that offer cognitive stimulation, such as reading, puzzles, or simple conversation, to help improve mental sharpness and alleviate feelings of isolation. While our caregivers are not licensed medical professionals, they play an essential role in helping clients stick to their prescribed therapy routines and monitor their progress, offering encouragement and care every step of the way.

Assisting Hands® Dana Point is committed to providing compassionate, specialized care for seniors recovering from a stroke. Our caregivers are dedicated to promoting independence, safety, and emotional well-being, ensuring that stroke survivors receive the comprehensive support they need to thrive at home. Through personalized care plans and ongoing assistance, we help ease the challenges of recovery while fostering a comfortable, supportive environment for our clients and their families.
